Cycling routes & photo sightseeing of Poznań
From the Photographer’s Apartment in Luboń we start on cycling routes that combine green areas with the main points of Poznań. We ride through Dębina, the flood embankments and Wartostrada. Along the way we look for photo spots – from old oaks to bridge panoramas and the Old Market Square.
Base route: from the apartment to Wartostrada
We start by crossing the A2 motorway, then head towards the ponds and Dębina Park. Riding through green areas along the flood embankments by the Warta, we reach Wartostrada.

- Level: easy, flat
- Surface: paths, embankments, asphalt
- Related routes: Wartostrada, Nadwarciański Szlak Rowerowy, EuroVelo 9 (fragmenty)
Route markings near the apartment
Near the Photographer’s Apartment and on the way towards Dębina / Wartostrada you will encounter among others:
- Nadwarciański Szlak Rowerowy (NSR) – blue waymarking
- EuroVelo 9 (Baltic–Adriatic) – marking R9 / EV9
- Wartostrada – main pedestrian-cycle path along the Warta (asphalt)
These markings help with orientation – especially where paths join or split. It is also worth having an offline map (Komoot / Google Maps) as backup.
What to see in Dębina
Dębina Forest Park is a remnant of riparian forest with ancient oaks (many natural monuments). It is worth stopping at the old trees, oxbow lakes and the characteristic brick railway viaduct – one of the most photographed objects on the route.
Our favourite option: Przemysł I Bridge → Berdychowski Bridge
We cross the Przemysł I Bridge and ride along Wartostrada to the Berdychowski Bridge (Berdychowo footbridges). Here a huge range of options opens up – it is worth planning several variants spread over a few days.
Approximate distance from the apartment to Berdychowski Bridge: about 10–14 km (one way).
Example route options from Berdychowski Bridge
1. Malta loop + Cybina / Swarzędz Lake
We turn towards Malta and ride around the lake. Option to visit the New Zoo. We like to extend the route along the Cybina with a loop around Swarzędz Lake. Good light for photos of the water surface and panoramas.
Approximate distance (return): 25–40 km
2. Śródka – coffee, Poznań Gate, Cathedral, Old Market
We ride straight to Śródka. We love a coffee and ice-cream break near Bishop Jordan Bridge. Visit the Poznań Gate (ICHOT) and the Cathedral, then many options: lunch near the Old Market Square, attractive tenement houses and the Poznań goats. Great frames of architecture and details.
Approximate distance (return): 18–28 km
3. Wartostrada to Lech Bridge + return on the other side / Citadel
We continue along Wartostrada to Lech Bridge and return on the other side of the Warta. Option to ride up and visit the Poznań Citadel. Good views of the river and the greenery of the fortifications.
Approximate distance (loop): 25–35 km
4. Centre: Old Market, Grand Theatre, Castle, Old Brewery
We turn to the Poznań Old Market Square and ride around the centre – the area of the Grand Theatre, the University, the Imperial Castle and the Old Brewery. Poznań’s cycling infrastructure is becoming more and more refined. Ideal for architectural details and street photography.
Closing the loop
From the centre or from Wartostrada we return straight on the cycle path to the Photographer’s Apartment. After a full day on the bike with a camera you have a peaceful place to review photos and rest.

Base for the trips
The Photographer’s Apartment in Luboń has direct access to the paths leading to Dębina and Wartostrada. An ideal base for both short evening rides and full-day photo sightseeing of Poznań by bike.
